Awabakal EEC offers a range of field work programs from Early Stage 1 through to Stage 6, in a variety of locations. One School, Two Campuses

In 2022 after consultation, Wetlands and Awabakal Environmental Education Centres have joined to form one school named Awabakal Environmental Education Centre.

Awabakal Environmental Education Centre has two campuses: Dudley Campus (previously known as Awabakal EEC) and Wetlands Campus (previously known as Wetlands EEC).

We continue to deliver quality educational programs in a variety of locations. 

Teacher and Student Network Day 2024

Save the date. The Teacher and Student Network Day is back in 2024!

This is a FREE workshop available to K-12 teachers or support staff and up to four students from your school in Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, Port Stephens, Cessnock and the Hunter.

This event will include:

  • Environmental education and fieldwork activities workshops.
  • Sustainability leadership opportunities and activities for students.

When: Wednesday 20th March 2024.

Where: Dudley Campus, Awabakal Environmental Education Centre.

Wet and Wild is held in Term 3 annually.

GSI- Grimescene Investigation

A learning and leadership day for Stage 3 students

On the day, teams of 4 students from different schools will investigate and discover issues in the local environment through practical hands-on activities in the field. Student teams will also discuss and develop potential management strategies for these issues.

This is a free event for Department of Education Schools.
